Hey there! I'm not a new member, but I'm just starting to post.
Here I want to talk about other artists covering AVA songs. I'll share 2 right now, done by italian label SAIFAM. SAIFAM produces a wide arrange of genres, going from Pop to Eurodance, to Speed to Electro.
SAIFAM also has a friendship with japanese label EMI Music Japan (formerly called EMI-TOSHIBA), which produces the Dancemania nonstop megamix CD series, and that got some SAIFAM artists to appear in the popular game DanceDanceRevolution (which I think all of you already know about ).
The first is by artist WILDSIDE (which got songs like IRRESISTIBLEMENT in DDR EXTREME), with their song Queen Of Love. It's a speedy song covering BA KKWO (from 3rdMIX). I'm not sure if SAIFAM got the rights for using the melody, or they just totally stole it!

I'll post a download link soon.
The next is the eurodance version of Vamos Amigo by the italian/spanish dance project, Bandido. This time they cover/stole Wa (also from 3rdMIX!)

Please post your comments and other covers/plagiarisms! :rolling:
HI DJ Tomoe! Nice to see "new" members posting ~~~ ^^
First time hearing from Wildside. I dont like the singer or the song. But its good for DDring...
I've heard and read that Bandido stole WA. Their version sucks anyway.
Im not sure if all artists got the permission to use/cove/remake these songs. I think Sammi Cheng got permission since I saw a video of them singing together on stage. By covering her songs, Sammi introduced Ava's music to China, which made her really famous there.
Chinese
Evonne Hsu - Lonely Ballet
Not a bad cover. I do like the intro, but not the whole song. The original is better and upbeat. She also copied the concept of ballet.

Sammi Cheng - Du Yi Wu Er (WA Cover)
Interesting cover in Chinese. Thats all I have to say. Ava also sang a Chinese version of WA.

Sammi Cheng - 眉飞色舞 (Bakkwo Cover)
The original is TONS better. Period. Nothing can beat the original BAKKWO!

Yumiko Cheng - 技術性擊倒 (Daladala Cover)
I thought this was sung by Sammi, but I guess not? :/

Cyndi Wang - Honey (Summer Dance Cover)
I actually like this song and mv a lot. It's cute. Some YT members even think that Ava copied her. But you know the truth.

Vietnamese
Ngô Thanh Vân - Mystery of the Moon) (Daladala Cover)
It's funny, in the beginning it said (translated) "Music by Sammi Cheng". OK She literally copied the whole video and she's not even Korean! You know what I'm talking about. I dont link this version. It's so bland. She also "copied" Nuh. Cant find the video right now..

Turkish-German
Dj Sakin & Friends - Protect Your Mind
Can someone tell me if this song sampled WA or WA sampled it? Im really confused... In the wiki page, it said that the song sampled James Horner's "Braveheart", so Im guessing WA sampled from Braveheart too? Do you think sampling is copying? IMO I dont think its not if the song sounds completely different. The intro is only the same in WA. And Im sure they got the permission to do so if they did cuz WA was hugely popular.

Theres some more remakes/covers etc of course like Babe Queen (베베퀸) and those songs from the Korean remake albums. I love you, Cheol Soo was also copied by Jordan Chan. A Japanese singer also copied Follow Me. Cant find those videos now..
Seen them all but never the Viet cover of Dala dala before, thanks for posting! I actually don't mind it. It might be blatantly ripping it off and falsely crediting Sammi, but the music + mv isn't that bad to listen to and watch. There's some nice additions to the original. Interesting costumes too.
I have a Viet cover of Wa. My dad was listening to Viet music in the car and it came on and I was shocked! I took the CD off him and ripped the song lol. I'll upload it soon if anyone is interested.
Also the DJ Saki song isn't copying Wa. Sampling is when you use a piece from another song exactly as it is. The music at the start is the exact Braveheart theme. Wa doesn't sample Braveheart, but it used the same tune with a different instrument. If anything the intro of Wa is a cover of the Braveheart theme.
There are also 2 (or 3) covers of You. I think one was by Sammi Cheung and another one was by the same Vietnamese singer who covered Dalah Dalah. The 3rd cover is supposedly also Vietnamese.
I'd like to know who sings this version of Bakkwo:
I think that's by Bandido who also covered Wa as 'Vamos Amigos' as mentioned above
whoaa this cover is new to me. usually people cover her popular songs like wa.
when ava sang this, its soo much cuter and suits the melody of the song. i wish she would promote this song than i love you cheol soo.
Yeah it all relates back to Ava. It's weird how these songs travel far but mostly recognised from the Chinese versions. The vietnamese version of Wa was more of a cover of Sammi's. And how other covers wrongly credit Sammi and such >
Jordan Chan (陈小春) Covered "I love you Cheol Soo" in his album "Exclusive Memory" on year 2008 with track #08 "每個女人都是美人" ("Every woman is a Belle") ("Every woman is a Beauty"
That melody has been used time and time again. Earliest I found was Kylie Minogues Love At First Sight back in 2001. It became more known with Kesha's Tik Tok and has also been used in Miley Cyrus' My December and Son Dam Bi's Queen. I think there were more but I forgot...
